The method Jesus used to strengthen his disciples and train them to become leaders of the early church was an amazingly simple one: DISCIPLESHIP.
You have to realize that Jesus is the Son of God and has unlimited possibilities. But he chose this simple method in his endeavor to redeem the entire planet earth.
