LIVING FOR GOD'S COMMISSION

Goal: You take God's mission in your life seriously and put it into practice.

Jesus himself exemplified the mission by healing people, liberating them and calling them to follow him.

How and where are you already living out this mission?
How, where and from whom can you learn to heal the sick and cast out demons?

A little guide to praying for healing or deliverance:

Prayer: A brief one in the name of Jesus
When praying with the sick, there is no concept to make it “work”. It is Jesus who heals - not you. However, here are a few simple practical steps:

Explain to the person that you can't heal, but you believe in the one who can: Jesus.
You can ask the person if you can put your hand on them (shoulder, head).
For healing: Pray simply and in the name of Jesus. E.g. “Thank you, Father in heaven for Simon. In the name of Jesus, may all pain disappear and may his hip be healed!”
For deliverance: Pray simply and in the name of Jesus. E.g. “Thank you, Father in heaven for Simon. In the name of Jesus, let all demons disappear from Simon's life and let freedom from Jesus fill you!”
You can then ask the person if they have experienced or felt anything.

Of course, there are sometimes people who have had a very difficult or dramatic past. In such situations, it is often not enough to pray. Experienced people can help you here.
