It is important to understand biblical passages not in isolation, but in their context. In this way, we can firstly avoid misinterpretations and secondly begin to better understand the mysteries of God.

• What do we learn about the author and recipients of Philippians?
• How is our understanding of the text we first read changed or expanded?
• What does the Holy Spirit tell us about this text?

In this way you can begin to study the Bible. In the appendix you will find a document on “inductive Bible study”. This is a simple method for delving deeper into the Word of God on your own.
