Study the Bible
The Bible is God’s Word. It is the only reliable source of truth. If we want to know God, we must know His Word. If we want to uncover lies that have shaped our lives, it is essential to read His Word. And if we want to discern which teachings or prophetic words are truly from God, we can only do so by measuring them against the Bible.
God speaks to us in various ways, but the clearest and most reliable way is through His Word. Every other form of communication from God – whether impressions, dreams, or prophetic words – must be tested against the Bible. His Word is the standard that guides us.
To know God better and grow in faith, it’s crucial to read and study the Bible regularly. There are countless reasons why, as followers of Jesus, we should know God’s Word well:
- It shows us who God is and how to live in a relationship with Him.
- It reveals lies that influence our lives and replaces them with truth.
- It helps us distinguish between truth and error.
That’s why we want to encourage you to make reading the Bible a regular part of your daily routine.
How can you read and study the Bible?
- Start with a prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to help you understand God’s Word.
- Write down your thoughts about what you’ve read – for example, in a Bible journal.
- If you’re new to reading the Bible, start with the New Testament, such as the Gospel of Luke or John.
- If you want to read the entire Bible, we recommend reading a few chapters from both the Old and New Testaments each day. This helps you see the connections between the two parts and makes the reading more engaging, especially as some sections of the Old Testament can be challenging.
Our Goal
We want to encourage you to read and study God’s Word regularly. The Bible is not just a book – it is God’s living Word that guides, transforms, and leads us into truth. Make it a foundational part of your life, and you will experience how God shapes and strengthens you through His Word.
