The Vision of Discipleship

Discipleship – Individual and from the Heart

Discipleship doesn’t mean following rigid rules or laws. It’s about following Jesus wholeheartedly and applying His Word in our daily lives. Each of us is unique, which means our journey as disciples of Jesus will also look different. As a church, we want to encourage and support each other on this path.

To help us live as disciples of Jesus, we have four key focus points:

Seek God
Make it a priority to seek God's presence in your daily life. This can happen through prayer, silence, or worship. Take time to focus on Him, listen to His voice, and entrust Him with your worries, joys, and decisions.

Study the Bible
God's Word is our foundation. Read the Bible regularly, either alone or with others. Ask yourself: What does God want to say to me through this passage? How can I apply it in my life? Studying the Bible helps us deepen our understanding of who Jesus is and grow in our faith.

Live Discipleship
Discipleship means living in community. Meet regularly with one or two other people to encourage each other to grow in faith. Share your experiences, read the Bible together, pray for one another, and model faith in your daily life. Discipleship is not just about knowledge – it’s a lifestyle.

Preach the Gospel
Share Jesus with others – through your words and your actions. Let your life be a testimony of God’s love. It doesn’t have to be complicated: An honest conversation, a helping hand, or a prayer for someone can make a difference.

A Task for You:
Take a look at your weekly schedule: When will you make time to ensure these four points become a consistent part of your life?

  • Seek God and Study the Bible: Plan daily quiet times for Bible reading and prayer as part of your routine.
  • Live Discipleship: Before making disciples, it’s important to be a disciple yourself. Find a leader or mentor in the church – this could also be a Christian friend. Meet regularly, pray together, and set goals that help you grow in your faith.
  • Preach the Gospel: Invite friends, neighbors, or people you meet to a church service or community event.

Work with your mentor to set concrete goals for how you can implement these points in the coming weeks.
Let’s walk this path together and align our lives with Jesus!
